on the road

after a little over sixteen hours, we made it to our destination. you may be asking, 16? you told us that is was only about 13 hours. yah that is what i thought, but when you are traveling with a travel buddy you manage to be adventurous and make a few pit stops.

we definitely made some great memories as we drove through iowa and nebraska. i mean, if you saw some of these things it would definitely be engraved in your memory as well. granted we did travel memorial day weekend and so it may have brought out the more ecentric people, but all is well, drew and i got a good laugh out of it.

you know when you are a dedicated fan when you see a bumper sticker that says 'republicans for voldamort'.

in the middle of nebraska, we ended up stopping several times and we saw, a lady by one of those glass sculptures ( almost like one of those souviners from argentina for the quincenero), it was like a purple angel for $26.99, and it definitely put us back in our trip like 10 minutes. it was really nice to see a walmart right off the highway as well. so of course we stop, you know familiar safe ground. no no no....it was like a walmart straight out of mesa, arizona. i almost ran into somone and she reponded 'permiso', i responded 'perdon'.... what would i have done it i didn't speak spanish? oh, right, and the oo/umh guy in the bathroom, according to drew. i guess a bit distracting.

and who would think that i could make a 16 hour trip without a FKS. OF COURSE there was an FKS, and even more so with drew! so this wonderful person in iowa has made rest stops worth stopping. a huge sign annoucning free refreshments. i thought that was only for church activities that were needing to ensure attendence. but no there are rest stops. so you better believe we hit that stuff up. there were backed good of all sorts. and lemonade. i got a brownie and lemonade, drew picked out a rice krispie treat and water (he went weak sauce on me). as great as the expereince and cause was, i found floaties in my lemonade, and that is when it all stopped for me.

well we finally made it here. and we have really enjoyed it. being with cousins and family is so fun. we laugh all the time, even through church. as we continue to make the little girl in the pew in front of us smile, or was we point out the awesome guitar hero tie on the man in the row next to us, and don't forget the girl who is playing pirate in the middle of sacrament meeting.

it is so fun. i've now become familiar with the show, dog; the bounty hunter, slowing catching up with my sports info, played wii sports and warrio (i think that is what it is called). i think i am going to like it here! we made it, and i'm looking forward for whats to come. just need a paying job now!
