there is a movie with kathrine heigl, 27 dresses. no i haven't been a bridesmaid 27 times, not even more than 5 times. i don't even know if i have 27 friends.
but i have done my share of weddings per season. there is something to be grateful for not having to be a bridesmaid 27 times.
i have suddenly become known around the office as the girl that goes to tons of weddings, but the big question is when is her's? i figure that that i go to enough weddings, mine will come around eventually right?
even funnier though, why is it such a big deal? i think in the culture that i am surrounded in (or dare i say, am part of as well) 22 and NOT MARRIED? are you kidding--- what's wrong? here i am approach the quarter of a century old . and yes-- not married. actually, not even dating anyone. (i'm giggling!)
but guess what. i love going to weddings. i love seeing how each wedding is done; the decor, the good, the dresses, the colors. and my favorite part --- is seeing them come right out of the temple. i LOVE that part. one day i'll find someone who's willing to spend longer than a week with me.
until then -- i shall continue to anticipate everyone else's invites. and, hope this doesn't come off bitter-- just really really funny! i love weddings, i love going to them, i love the idea that one day i couple possibly too have one of my own. (giggling again)
Well I posted on here yesterday...and for some reason it didn't post! I'm going to try to remember what I said...I said something along the lines of, atleast you're in good spirits about it, and not curled up in a ball on your bed wallowing while eating a gallon of ice cream! Being in your mid-twenties and single in our culture is the most difficult, interesting, entertaining, weird and many other words time of your life with so many opportunities to learn and grow! Just keep enjoying it, and just remember that everyday you're getting closer to getting past this phase!!! Love ya Talise!!!
ReplyDeleteDude, you have way more than 27 friends! You're one of those--friends everywhere. You can't help it. Better tell your parents to be prepared to spend a lot on wedding invitations! I agree with Carrie. Singlehood is one of the most fascinating, complex, difficult, fun, exciting, and adventurous times in life. Seriously. Go for everything.
