believe it or not... i am going into this, it IS worthy enough for a blog post!
this week i went to institute and really enjoyed it! but let me tell you it was a journey to finally get to a good class! i mean, i guess i should've known, in the what i have heard referred to as 'happy valley'.
lets back this up a week ago, when i first tried institute in happy valley. i had such high expectations! i was excited, teachings of the living prophets... i walked out knowing less than what i did when i walked in. not to mention the two absolutely annoying girls in the back who kept saying the same answer over and over again, as if it was the answer to every question. i think just wanted to hear themselves talk. that or they were trying to get the attention of the one cute boy in class.
after several inappropriate comments made by the teacher, which had nothing to do with the topic of the class, i had checked out, and was anxious to go to another class.
so, ROUND TWO. this week. i was determined to fill the well that i felt was slowly being emptied. so there were options. dating and courtship or book of mormon. well... dating and courtship was on the first floor, so naturally, i was like ok, we can try that, we wouldn't have to walk up 2 flights of stairs. walked to the classroom, looked in, and realized it wasn't dating and courtship class.. it was SPEED DATING! ---- talise ---- speed dating---- not happening. i was off to climb 2 flights of stairs. and let me tell you, those were the best 2 flights of stairs i climbed!
well, luckily it was just an amazing class. all sarasim set aside..... it was just what i needed! i loved it! i ended up going to a book of mormon class. i realized a lot of things that i had been missing in my life, i had discovered why it has been so hard for me to adjust to coming home (well part of it).
....the mushy part now.... i am so blessed with the knowledge that i have of the gospel of Jesus Christ. we have the Book of Mormon.... another testament of Jesus Christ. i know that that book brings us strength and that it leads us in what we need to do to reach our potential. but more than anything, what brings us great joy---- brought/brings ME great joy is sharing this great blessing in my life. that is the difference between the me now, and the me a year ago! i had the great privilege everyday to be sharing the truth to all! to those who didn't know it!
i love it! i love life. even thought at times it is so overwhelming, so frustrating, and at times so discouraging, life is good. go back to the basics, and you will realize, life is good.
