being domestic

i don't know what has come over me--- maybe it is the free time that i have. it is funny cause now that i don't have school, i come home from work, and wonder what i am supposed to do. i usually find something to do, and if i don't i either find a new recipe, some sort of new decor, or another way to keep me busy.

i have come to find how much i really love this domestic stuff-- cooking, decorating, even sometimes cleaning.

so last week, i began formulating ideas of how to decorate me room (ps... i have decided to go with the different squares with patterns, pictures are to come), found a pasta salad recipe in a Paula Dean magazine and made it, and made biscotti! not going to lie i was kinda impressed with myself!

so--- the pasta salad, it was a tex mex pasta salad-- it was SO easy. that is what i love about all that i do! it's easy and so delicious. All you need it bow tie pasta, 1 cup of sour cream, 1 cup of salsa, a can of black beans, a can of corn, and cheese. throw it all in a bowl and mix! oh you can add a 1/2 tsp of cayanne pepper and cilantro. it was great! chicken is a great addition too!

now for my real pride for the week. biscotti! i personally thought it was so great. it is kinda a light dessert. it is usually eaten with hot choclate or a glass of milk.

this is the dough--- i made a chocolate with craisins and chocolate chip biscotti---which was SUPER easy. i just made it with a cake mix, flour, eggs--- and some other stuff (let me know if you want the recipe)and here is the almond biscotti. i threw in some craisins. this one was so good because it wasn't as sweet as the chocolate one, but both were so good!

anyways--- well i guess this was the way to show how i can cook! i can be domestic! and i kinda really enjoyed it!
