lately, we have had several activities that have proven to me that i have great friends. last weekend we went out for a friend birthday. it was then that i saw such an appreciative person. one who really valued our friendship.
then tonight, there were a couple of situations that i was so impressed. i had the opportunity to be part of a priesthood blessing. i was so grateful that we had friends who were worthy and willing to exercise their authority. and really they truly had a love for the one in need. i then received a phone call to meet up with another friend, where he was going through a hard time. i am so grateful that he trusted me enough to call me and counsel with me.
it was blatantly illustrated to me how we really are there to lift one another's burdens to support each other. i was watching this documentary, and there was a principle taught to me -- that sorrow is a result of great love. and though these situations didn't both bring sorrow, i was reminded how much i care for my friends, and i would be as bold as to say how much my friends care for me.
those i surround myself with truly make me a better person. and as much sorrow, at times, that i feel for my friends, i know its because of my love for them. and so this may be another post about my friends, but it really is so much more. worthy priesthood holder, sorrow and love are intertwined, and those you surround yourself with, truly make you who you are.
